2022 ASGSA Turkey Sales
Animal Science Graduate Student Association Offers Annual Holiday Turkey Sale Wednesday, October 12, 2022

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Animal Science Graduate Student Association (ASGSA) is having its annual Holiday Turkey Sale. All sale proceeds benefit ASGSA and go towards funding travel and other group expenses.

Four sizes of turkeys are available for sale, including small (10-14 lbs.) for $28, medium (14-16 lbs.) for $32, large (16-18 lbs.) for $36, and extra-large (18-22 lbs.) for $40. The thawed and ready-to-cook turkeys will be ready to pick up on Monday, November 21st, and Tuesday, November 22nd between 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

2022-23 Scholarship Reception
Animal Science Announces 2022-23 Scholarship Winners Monday, October 3, 2022

The Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln had 96 students earn awards on Sunday, October 2 at its Annual Scholarship Reception held at the Nebraska East Union.

The 123 scholarships awarded are made possible by contributions from 37 individuals and organizations to support students in the Animal Science program. Over $140,000 in scholarships was awarded to students at the event.

Lincoln, Neb. —Clinton Krehbiel, who has led the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Department of Animal Science since 2017, has been selected as the dean of the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Lisa Karr named CASNR Associate Dean of Academic Innovation and Student Success Thursday, September 1, 2022

Dr. Lisa Karr, a professor, companion animal Extension Specialist, and undergraduate teaching coordinator in the Department of Animal Science has been named Associate Dean of Academic Innovation and Student Success in the College of Agricultural Science and Natural Resources (CASNR). She will begin her new role on September 1 and will split her time between her appointments in the department and the college.

Department of Animal Science Hosts U.S. Meat Export Federation Global Processing Workshop Friday, August 12, 2022

The Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln welcomed guests from throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America as part of a U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Global Processing Workshop on August 9-10, 2022.

"This is the second time we've partnered with the university and animal science to bring this event to Lincoln after previously being here in 2019," said Travis Arp, Assistant Vice President of Export Services for USMEF. "Between the faculty expertise and the facilities, Nebraska has been a great partner with us for this event."

72 Animal Science Students Named to Spring 2022 Dean's List Thursday, June 23, 2022

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has announced 72 students in Animal Science were named to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) Dean's List for Spring 2022. These students had a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher based on a minimum of 12 graded semester hours.

Over 6,200 students were named to the Deans' List for the spring semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, including 539 CASNR students.

Congratulations to these students for their hard work during the spring semester of 2022!
