Department of Animal Science Hosts U.S. Meat Export Federation Global Processing Workshop Friday, August 12, 2022

The Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln welcomed guests from throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America as part of a U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Global Processing Workshop on August 9-10, 2022.

"This is the second time we've partnered with the university and animal science to bring this event to Lincoln after previously being here in 2019," said Travis Arp, Assistant Vice President of Export Services for USMEF. "Between the faculty expertise and the facilities, Nebraska has been a great partner with us for this event."

72 Animal Science Students Named to Spring 2022 Dean's List Thursday, June 23, 2022

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has announced 72 students in Animal Science were named to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) Dean's List for Spring 2022. These students had a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher based on a minimum of 12 graded semester hours.

Over 6,200 students were named to the Deans' List for the spring semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, including 539 CASNR students.

Congratulations to these students for their hard work during the spring semester of 2022!

Wood named Vice-President-Elect for Society for the Study of Reproduction Wednesday, May 18, 2022

Jennifer Wood has been elected to serve as the Vice-President-elect for the Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR) for 2022-23.

Wood is an Assistant Professor and Molecular Reproductive Physiologist in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her term will begin on July 1.

SSR was founded in 1967 to promote the study of reproduction by fostering interdisciplinary communication among scientists, holding conferences, and publishing meritorious studies. SSR has members from 50 countries around the world.

Luck Selected To Serve on NAEAA Board of Directors Friday, May 20, 2022

Lena Luck has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Equine Affiliated Academics (NAEAA).

Luck, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal Science and Youth Extension Equine Specialist at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will serve on the board through 2025.

Founded in 2007, NAEAA is a non-profit professional organization representing individuals from public and private institutions and the equine industry that strive to educate undergraduates within an equine academic program.

2022 UNL Equestrain team at Nationals
Equestrian Team Finishes in Fifth Place, Six Individuals Earn High Honors at IHSA National Championships Wednesday, May 11, 2022

Six individuals earned high honors across 12 events to lead the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian team to a fifth-place team finish at the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) National Championship. The event was held May 5-8 in Harrisburg, Pa.

The IHSA membership is comprised of more than 400 member colleges in 45 states and Canada and represents 10,000 members. Only four-percent of riders qualify for the National championships.
