Registration Now Open for Alumni & Friends Reunion and Block & Bridle Honors Banquet Wednesday, March 10, 2021

We are excited to announce that we have received approval to host our 2021 Block and Bridle Honoree Banquet and Alumni and Friends Reunion on April 10 at Robbers Cave. This event will be hosted in a hybrid format, and you will be able to participate either in-person or online. We have a limited number of in-person seats available, so I encourage you to sign up early. The events on April 10 are centered around allowing alumni to reconnect with fellow alumni and friends and recognizing the achievements of our current and former students and friends of the department.

It seems it is that time of year again for ASGSA’s Annual Turkey Sale! All turkey sale proceeds will fund all ASGSA travel and other group expenses. Turkey’s will come in small (12-14 lbs) for $26, medium (14-16 lbs) for $30, large (16-18 lbs) for $34, and extra-large (18-20) for $38.

Funds raised by this event support opportunities for graduate students of the UNL Animal Science Department, including travel awards, thesis binding fees, and career networking events. This semester, we're having all orders being placed online through Marketplace.

Loeffel Meat Shoppe re-opening on Fridays from 11:00 am - 5:30 pm Thursday, August 13, 2020

We are pleased to announce that we are able to re-open our sales room while adhering to appropriate safety precautions.  For the time being, our sales room will be open on Fridays from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm.  In meeting University and City of Lincoln requirements, customers will be required to wear masks and maintain a 6 foot distance from other customers.  We will also be limiting 3 customers in the sales area at a time.  Hand sanitizer is available at the entryway to the Meat Lab.

LINCOLN, NEB. – Nebraska Farm Bureau has selected Dr. Terry Klopfenstein, Emeritus Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), as the 2019 recipient of, its highest honor, the Silver Eagle Award. The award will be presented to Klopfenstein on Dec. 10 at the 2019 Nebraska Farm Bureau Annual Convention in Kearney.
