The Feedyard Management Internship has a strong history of training young people who have gone on to be successful in their respective careers. The internship was begun in 1988 by Dr. Terry Klopfenstein. Since that time, more than 150 individuals have received training through the internship.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Livestock Judging Coach Blaine French was named 2023 Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Team Coach of the Year
Coach of the Year Blaine French Helping Others Grow Passion for the Livestock Industry Tuesday, November 21, 2023

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Livestock Judging team finished its 2023 season earning numerous accolades, including 12 top-eight overall finishes, 31 top-eight division finishes and 53 individual top-10 finishes. The team also celebrated an academic all-American honoree. In addition, the high-achieving team was led by the Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Team Coach of the Year Blaine French.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian Hunt Seat Team
Equestrian Hunt Seat Team Claims Reserve High Point Team Honors in Season Opener at Colorado State University Thursday, November 16, 2023

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian Hunt Seat Team opened it season at Colorado State University on November 11-12 and earned reserve high point team honors at the Saturday show.

Individual highlights include first place finishes by Anna Lampereur in Open Flat on Saturday, Sophia Winters in Limit Fences on Saturday, Ava Nelson in Novice Flat on both Saturday and Sunday, and Delrone Mukusha in Introductory Flat on Saturday.

The team will return to Colorado for competition on December 2-3 at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs/Colorado College.

2023 Livestock Judging team at the North American International Livestock Expo
Hodges Earns Academic All-America Honor, French Named Coach of the Year as Livestock Judging Team Closes Out 2023 at North American International Thursday, November 16, 2023

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Livestock Judging team closed out 2023 with a 6th High Team Overall finish at the North American International Livestock Expo, while team member Elizabeth Hodges was named a Senior Collegiate Academic All-American and head coach Blaine French was named Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Team Coach of the Year.
