Nebraska's Hunt Seat Equestrian Team
Equestrian Hunt Seat Team Competes in Regional Competition Friday, March 15, 2024

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equestrian Hunt Seat team ended its season in regional competition at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on March 10-11.

Anna Lampereur, Ava Nelson and Delrone Mukusha all placed in regionals at the event. Lampereur placed third in Open Fences and fourth in Open Flat, Nelson placed fifth in Novice Flat, and Mukuska placed third in Introductory Flat.

Department of Animal Science To Recognize Block and Bridle, Alumni Awards Winners at Annual Honors Banquet Friday, March 8, 2024

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Animal Science will honor four individuals with awards at its 2024 Honors Banquet. The event is sponsored by Nebraska Cattlemen and the Nebraska Pork Producers Association and will be held on April 20, 2024 at the AKRS Champions Club in Lincoln, Nebraska.

John Miller will be the 2024 Block and Bridle Club honoree, while Joeli Walrath, Dr. Bryan Buss, and Collette Schultz Kaster will be honored with awards for their outstanding accomplishments as undergraduate or graduate animal science alumni.

Bill Ahlschwede, former Nebraska State Swine Specialist, Passes Away Thursday, February 29, 2024

William T. “Bill” Ahlschwede, a graduate of the department of animal science and former Nebraska swine extension specialist, passed away on February 27th, 2024 at the age of 82.

Following his graduation from Nebraska, Bill earned an MS and PhD at North Carolina State and Postdoctoral studies at the University of Wisconsin.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Western Equestrian team closed out its regular season on February 24 by hosting its spring home western show, followed by the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) Region 5 Western Regional Championship.

Livestock Judging Team Competes at Cattlemen's Classic and San Antonio Stock Show Monday, February 26, 2024

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Livestock Judging Team has started off the season with success at the Cattlemen's Classic and the San Antonio Stock Show.

At the Cattlemen's Classic, Ashlyn Robinson finished as sixth high individual overall and fifth high individual in reasons. Jaylea Pope was ninth high individual in reasons and Noah Summerswas sixth high individual in placings.
