Nebraska Extension and Fonner Park will be co-hosting “Fonner Park Field Day” in Grand Island, Neb., on Sunday, April 14 to give people interested in the Nebraska Horse Racing industry a glimpse at what goes into a day of thoroughbred racing.
 
The event at Fonner Park will feature a lunch buffet in the Gus Fonner Suite, live races at 1:30 p.m., behind the scenes tours, and the chance to visit with industry professionals and stakeholders, including trainers, breeders, and owners, along with members of the state racing commission, the Nebraska Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA), and the Nebraska Thoroughbred Breeders Association (NTBA). Attendees will also have the chance to meet Fred Ecoffey, a Nebraska Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame jockey and longtime Fonner Park racing official, at the event.
 
Those interested can pre-register here by April 8 for $35. You can also register at the door for $40 (cash or check) on April 14.
