The Steak Fry event is the club’s largest fundraising event put on by the beef interest group that helps the club pay for things such as industry tours, meeting expenses and club awards. The event is also a way for the club members to be able to interact with friends, family, faculty and staff outside of a classroom setting. The steaks are donated by Cargill, who also helps to grill and serve up the steaks.
Little Aksarben is a livestock showmanship competition for UNL students who have either shown livestock in FFA or 4-H, and also for students who do not have any experience showing livestock but are interested in competing. The students have a week or two to work with their animal(s) in preparation of the show. The animals usually consist of cattle, swine, sheep and goats.

Big Red Beef Show is an annual jackpot cattle show the club puts on. This year the 2022 Big Red Beef Show will be held March 4-5th at the Nebraska State Fair Grounds. The club facilitates the move in of cattle, check in, and showmanship on Friday. On Saturday the show is run as a two ring show, therefore the cattle exhibited essentially have two shows in one day.
