About Me

I've always been a crazy cat lady and wannabe horse girl, but I'd never worked with pigs until Drs Burkey and Miller got me involved with nutrition research as an undergrad. I left UNL and never expected to work with pigs again, until I got hired at South Dakota State as a monogastric nutrition lab manager. I got my Masters at SDSU this summer in swine nutrition and welfare, and now have made a full circle back to UNL. I love power washing and working with sows, and working in climate-controlled environments is one of the surprising perks about swine research.

What is your position in the department?

Swine Research Coordinator.

How long have you worked in the department?

Since October 2021.

What do you enjoying outside of work?

Baking, walking and training my dog, riding horses, swimming, camping, and growing an increasingly ridiculous number of houseplants

What is something most people don't know about you?

I would love to have a mini milk cow, heritage breed hogs, and fifteen identical black cats to confuse visitors.
