About Me

I have lived in the Lincoln area my whole life. I attended grade school in Eagle and later Emerald through the 8th grade, went to Malcolm High, and then on to UNL where I got my finance degree. Despite being an "only child" I have four children of my own. My son, Kyle, is 23 and graduated from UNL last year. My three daughters are 19-year-old triplets, Samantha, Mandy and Lydia. Two of them are currently attending UNL and the other one goes to Bryan College of Health Sciences. I started at UNL in Career Services in 2011 and moved to the business center for Animal Science in 2014.

What is your position in the department?

Grants/Finance Specialist-Lead

How long have you worked in the department?

I have worked in the department for 7 years.

What do you enjoying outside of work?

I love camping and camp fires. My fiance, Nick, and I have an air conditioned camper and usually go to nearby lakes so the kids can join in around their busy work schedules. We always bring our two dogs, Bosley and Gallagher, who are learning to be good campers. This is my first summer raising chickens. After much anticipation we started getting eggs early in July!

What is something most people don't know about you?

Growing up I worked in my family's fast food restaurants, Waldo's and Popeye's. After college I worked in insurance until I made the decision to take over the family restaurant business when my dad was ready to retire. One month after making this major job change, I found out I was having triplets. So instead of running restaurants, I stayed home with the kids for the next decade and still did a lot of "running"!
