The "Horse 101" courses will cover topics such as the evolution of horses, their behavior, feeding, health and much more.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Equine Extension will be offering a three-part "Horse 101" online course for those wanting to learn more about horses.

The courses will cover topics such as the evolution of horses, their behavior, feeding, health and much more. Each of the three parts is divided into four to five units comprised of one to two lessons. The cost to enroll in each part individually is $50, or $120 if you enroll in all three. The online courses will be available online 24 hours a day for enrollees to complete at their own convenience starting February 1, 2024. Coursework must be completed by May 1, 2024.

The individual courses are:

Part 1: Evolution, Breeds & Uses, Identification and Conformation and Selection.

Part 2: Senses, Behavior & Body language, Nutrition (2 Units) and Exercise Physiology.

Part 3 : Health (2 Units), Reproduction, Genetics, Environmental Management
