Wood named Vice-President-Elect for Society for the Study of Reproduction Wednesday, May 18, 2022

Jennifer Wood has been elected to serve as the Vice-President-elect for the Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR) for 2022-23.

Wood is an Assistant Professor and Molecular Reproductive Physiologist in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her term will begin on July 1.

SSR was founded in 1967 to promote the study of reproduction by fostering interdisciplinary communication among scientists, holding conferences, and publishing meritorious studies. SSR has members from 50 countries around the world.

An active member since joining SSR in 2002, Wood has been a member of multiple committees for the organization and served as the SSR representative on the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FACEB) Public Communications committee.

Wood is a reviewing editor for Biology of Reproduction, Molecular Reproduction & Development, Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology and has been an ad hoc reviewer for at least 10 other journals. She recently became an Associate Handling Editor for Frontiers in Developmental Biology, Molecular and Cellular Reproduction. Jennifer has also served as an ad hoc grant reviewer for National Institutes of Health, United States Department of Agriculture, and Pennsylvania Department of Health Review and reviews UNL Hatch projects.
