Ashley Benes has been an Extension Educator at University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 2017 and serves as a statewide 4-H Youth Development Coordinator. She joined the Department of Animal Science as an extension affiliate in 2022. Benes earned her B.S., in Agricultural Education from Nebraska in 2007, before earning her M.S., in Leadership Education from Nebraska in 2013.

She previously served as the Chief Education and Program Officer at the Lincoln Children's Museum from May-December 2017, and was an extension educator and unit leader in Cass County from 2013-2017, and was an extension assistant in Hall County from 2010-2013. Prior to joining Extension, Benes was an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor for Norfolk Public Schools from 2008-2010.
