Archie C. Clutter became dean of UNL's Agricultural Research Division and director of the Agricultural Experiment Station in September 2011.

Clutter, an Iowa native, received his bachelor's degree in agricultural business from Iowa State University and his master's and doctorate in animal science from UNL. He worked most recently at Newsham Choice Genetics in Missouri, where he was vice president for research and development, managing a team of 10 research staff and an annual budget of $3 million. He also served on the adjunct faculty at Iowa State University.

Clutter also held several research and development positions at Monsanto from 2000-07, ending his tenure there as director of swine research and development, and was a professor of animal science at Oklahoma State University from 1987-2000. At OSU he managed the swine research farm, the animal science small animal laboratory and the livestock molecular genetics laboratory and coordinated the Department of Animal Science's graduate programs and interdepartmental food science graduate program.
