About Me

At UNL, I currently coach the Equestrian Team, manage the horse herd as well as teaching and extension.   I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of the student’s journey as they grow, develop and go on to great things.  I am blessed to be able to work along side of great faculty, staff and students.

What is your position in the department?

Lecturer.

How long have you worked in the department?

14 years.

What do you enjoying outside of work?

Horses.  My father rodeoed so I grew up around horses my whole life. My family is very active in team roping.  As I no longer compete in the show world because of my travel demands with the Equestrian Team, you may see me at a team roping jackpot as a way to still be in the competitive ring.

What is something most people don't know about you?

I worked for the Nebraska Department of Corrections for almost 27 years in the mental health units at the maximum-security facilities as well as in administration of the behavioral health division.  I did this in a part time capacity for the state benefits as horse training does not provide such.  At one time I almost went to law school but decided I was not ready to give up my career with the horses.
