Specific opportunities will depend on the summer calendar, organizational needs, and the intern's interests and level of involvement.Preferred QualificationsIdeal applicants should demonstrate an interest in agriculture, public policy, and professional development.Preferred qualifications include:Junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled at an accredited university in Louisiana.Pursuing a degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, agribusiness, animal science, or a related field.Strong interest in agricultural policy, grassroots advocacy, and communications.Agricultural background, work experience, coursework, or involvement through FFA, 4-H, collegiate organizations, or other agricultural activities.Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, research, and time-management skills.Willingness to learn about and engage with the diverse agricultural industries throughout Louisiana.Ability to work independently, collaborate with staff, and adapt to changing schedules and priorities.Professionalism and a willingness to represent Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation in meetings, events, and other professional settings.Additional Internship InformationThe internship is based at LFBF's headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and includes opportunities for travel throughout the state and potentially beyond.Internship activities may involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overnight travel.
