Brent Johnson Earns Nebraska Board of Regents Kudos Award Tuesday, June 27, 2023

Brent Johnson, the Livestock & Building Operations Manager in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has received a Kudos Award from the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. Johnson was recognized during the Board of Regents meeting on June 22.

65 Animal Science Students Named to Spring Dean's List Monday, June 26, 2023

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has announced 65 students in Animal Science were named to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) Dean's List for Spring 2023. These students had a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher based on a minimum of 12 graded semester hours.

Over 6,400 students were named to the Deans' List for the spring semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, including 571 CASNR students.

Emma Vazquez to Graduate from University Honors Program Wednesday, May 17, 2023

Emma Vazquez, an animal science major from Omaha, Neb., will graduate this weekend as part of the University Honors program.

She joins 263 other students that have maintained at least a 3.5 grade-point average, complete a culminating senior project or research thesis, and fulfill other curricular requirements. This is the largest number of Honors graduates in a single term in the program’s 37-year history. The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources had 23 students complete the Honors program this year.

Three Animal Science Students named Chancellor's Scholars Monday, May 15, 2023

Animal Science majors TaraLee Hudson, Tucker Randall, and Taylor Peter were part of a record number of University of Nebraska-Lincoln students to earn Chancellor's Scholar honors for the spring of 2023.

Chancellor’s Scholars are students who have maintained 4.0 grade-point averages on all collegiate work at Nebraska and elsewhere. The 94 students that earned the honor will be recognized at undergraduate commencement on May 20 at Memorial Stadium.

Growing up, Morgan Hodges always wanted to work in the cattle industry. Her father was a livestock extension specialist, allowing her to be around production agriculture to see and learn about a lot of places and operations.

A native of Kingsville, Texas, she attended Texas A&M University with a major in animal science, but like most college students, finding a focus area in the program was a bigger challenge.
