The University of Nebraska-Lincoln equestrian western team finished as high point team at its home show on Feb. 7-8.
Izzi Velinsky was named high point rider on day one after finishing first in reining and second in open horsemanship, while Addison Gropp was reserve high point rider after finishing first in ranch riding and fourth in level 2 horsemanship. Other top finishers were Paige Bunn in level 2 horsemanship, Brenna Wemhoff in beginner horsemanship, and Fayth Brown in rookie A horsemanship.
On day two, Velinsky was named high point rider again after finishing first in both reining and open horsemanship. Ady Kroese was the other top finisher for Nebraska in beginner horsemanship.
The western team will head to Fort Collins, Colo. for a western show on Feb. 21, followed by regional competition on Feb. 22. The hunt seat team will travel to Fountain, Colo., for competition on March 14, followed by regional competition on March 15.
