The University of Nebraska-Lincoln equestrian hunt seat team kicked off 2026 with competitions in Fountain, Colo., on January 31-February 1.
Nebraska was named high point team on day one, with Elly Samek being named high point rider after placing first in both intermediate on the flat and intermediate over fences. Hannah Pagel was first in novice equitation, while Mia Maranville was second in both intermediate on the flat and intermediate over fences, and Nicole Dubas finishing second in pre-novice equitation.
On day two, Nebraska's reserve high point team finish was paced by Maranville's top finish in intermediate on the flat, Sam Worm was first in open over fences, and Emerson Theisen was first in limit on the flat. Samek was second in both intermediate on the flat and intermediate over fences, and Theisen was second in limit over fences.
The hunt seat team will return to Fountain, Colo., for competition on March 14, followed by regional competition on March 15. The western team will host its home shows on February 7-8.
