Five members of the Department of Animal Science earned Holling Family Teaching Excellence Awards at the 2024 College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Awards (CASNR) Luncheon on May 10.
Alli Raymond, undergraduate admissions coordinator for the department, received the CASNR Staff Inclusive Excellence Award. The award recognizes a staff member in the college for outstanding contributions in diversity and inclusive excellence
Ally Pachunka, a Ph.D. student in the department, received the Graduate Teaching and Learning Award. The award recognizes exceptional teaching and learning in graduate, professional, and undergraduate teaching assistants.
Kacie McCarthy, an assistant professor and beef cow-calf extension specialist received the Early Achievement Faculty Award. The award recognizes exceptional teaching by an early career faculty member.
Lisa Karr, a professor and companion animal extension specialist, received the Faculty Inclusive Excellence Award. The award recognizes the embodiment of diversity and inclusive excellence in teaching.
Tom Burkey, a professor of non-ruminant nutrition, received the Sustained Excellence in Teaching and Learning Faculty Award which recognizes exceptional teaching.
The Holling Family Teaching Excellence Awards have been recognizing exceptional teaching in the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) since 1998 with over 200 awards presented. IANR is known for outstanding teaching and for fostering a collaborative community that enhances the lives of the people we serve.
