Alumni and Service Awards

The Department of Animal Science annually recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of undergraduate and graduate alumni, and contributions individuals have made to the Department through their commitment to the livestock and (or) allied industries. These awards are presented at the Animal Science Honors Banquet held in April.

Young Alumni Distinction Award: Recognizes the significant accomplishments made by an University of Nebraska-Lincoln Animal Science Alumnus (BS, MS, or PhD) who has graduated in the last 10 years. 

Undergraduate Distinction Award:  Recognizes the significant accomplishments made by an University of Nebraska-Lincoln Animal Science Undergraduate Alumnus.

Graduate Distinction Award: Recognizes the significant accomplishments made by an University of Nebraska-Lincoln Animal Science Graduate Alumnus.

Distinguished Service Award:  Recognizes significant and outstanding contributions made to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Animal Science.

Nominations: The nominator must be clearly identified and he/she should provide up to a one-page narrative supporting the nomination. The nomination can include up to a five-page resume or CV. Nominators are encouraged to submit nominations electronically below. Each nomination must include contact information for the nominator and nominee.

Nominations are due on February 3, 2025.
