Dr. Rick Rasby joined the Department of Animal Science as an Assistant Professor in 1986 and served as a Professor from 2000-2016, before serving as an Associate Dean of Extension and Agriculture Program Leader from 2016-2023. He returned to the department as a Professor in 2023 and serves as an Extension Cow/Calf Specialist.

Summary: Identification of a major issue confronting the Nebraska beef industry. Organize a Nebraska summit meeting to discuss and bring the identified issue to resolution.
Research
My research focuses on the interaction between nutrition and reproduction in beef cows.
Extension
My extension focus is beef cow management systems that impact performance and economics that are sustainable and responsible that lead to robust, healthy, and sustainable landscape, is profitable, and enhances quality of life.
