Dr. Kacie McCarthy joined the Department of Animal Science as an assistant professor and extension beef cow-calf specialist in January of 2020. She also serves as the program lead for the Krutsinger Beef Industry Scholars. Dr. McCarthy is also a member of the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS), Gamma Sigma Delta (Honor Society of Agriculture), and the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS).

Summary: Integrated management specific to the beef cow-calf enterprise necessary to achieve biologic and economic efficiency.

My extension programs relate to reproductive management, beef cow management, estrous synchronization protocols, bull and heifer development, nutrition and reproduction interaction.
