High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in learning more about the beef industry can now apply to attend the 22nd annual Nebraska Youth Beef Leadership Symposium (NYBLS) on November 6-8 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The event is held on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's East Campus at the Animal Science Complex and is designed to introduce youth to career opportunities and current issues in the beef industry, as well as offer education and practice in the use of leadership skills through interactions with University faculty, staff, students, and industry leaders and stakeholders.
Since 2004, more than 800 high school students have attended the event, with participants in 2025 coming from across the United States, including Nebraska, Minnesota, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and North Dakota.
Students interested in attending can complete an application until September 1. If an applicant is selected to participate and attend, a $75 registration fee (covering the cost of hotel, meals, and materials) will be required. The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CASNR) will also award several scholarships.
