Welcome to Nebraska Animal Science Sheep and Goat Extension!

The University of Nebraska sheep and goat extension program is demand driven, seeking to address the specific needs of producers as they arise. The goal of the program is to provide assistance to producers and interested youth to help them become efficient producers with a broad knowledge of the industry.

Extension Publications

This publication provides some basic information frequently requested by youth who are considering 4-H goat projects, or by people interested in commercial or hobby goat production. Goats also can be an added source of income for a beef cattle operation.

Comprehensive Nutrient Management Planning (USDA-NRCS)

Resources and references to help develop a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan. These plans document the practices and strategies adopted by the landowner or operator to address resource concerns related to soil erosion, water quality, utilization of manure, and disposal of organic by-products.
