Interested in ASCI 395E: Teaching Experiences? Take a look at the guide below to help you through the process.
What do I need to do? When should I do it?

Consider which classes you have taken where you would want to learn from the instructor.

Decide if there is a course where you would want to be involved in the teaching process.

Start thinking about this a semester before you want to serve as a teaching assistant.

Obtain your experience:

  • Reach out to your professor and see if they have opportunities available
  • Utilize CASNR Career Services for resume, cover letter, and interview assistance

Most teaching assistant positions are filled in the semester before the class starts.

You should reach out around priority registration if you have an interest.

Sign up for ASCI 395E to earn credit:

  • Earn credit in the term you complete your experience
  • Complete an experience contract
  • Sign up for 1-2 credits based on number of hours expected to work
Reach out to Dr. Lisa Karr (lisa.karr@unl.edu) when class registration begins to complete experience contract and receive an enrollment code.
