ASCI 311A - Equine Industry Tour
Offered in the spring, this study tour provides exposure to the broad array of opportunities in the equine industry and increase the understanding of various disciplines within the horse industry.
The tour travels to various horse related operations either south to the stock horse areas of Oklahoma and north Texas, or east through St. Louis (Budweiser Clydesdales and Purina research farm) and then to the Louisville and Lexington, KY areas.

ASCI 311B - Meat Industry Tour
The Meat Industry Study Tour offers students a firsthand look at the wide range of opportunities within the meat industry. Throughout the tour, students visit various companies, engage with industry experts, and observe operations, deepening their understanding of industry standards, challenges, and opportunities. This experience allows students to expand their network, learn best practices, and see how knowledge gained in courses is applied in real-world settings. The tour includes stops at multiple meat processing facilities, from small to large-scale processors producing a variety of products, as well as visits to industry suppliers and research facilities.

Students identify beef cattle related enterprises that represent the breadth of the cattle industry such as Seedstock or Commercial Cow-Calf operations, Feedlots, Meat Industry or Packers, Allied and Supporting Agencies. They prioritize these enterprises as candidates during the spring semester and include them in the summer tour.
