The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Block & Bridle Club will be hosting its annual Steak Fry on September 15 from 5-7pm at the Animal Science Complex on East Campus.

Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased at go.unl.edu/2023steakfry through September 14. Tickets on the day of the event are $15 and can be purchased at the door. Each ticket is good for a meal of steak, cheesy potatoes, beans, a cookie and a drink. To-go containers will also be available. The steaks for the meal are provided by Cargill, Incorporated.

"The steak fry is our favorite event of the year," said Jade Paxton, a Block & Bridle club officer and vice-president of the beef interest group for the club. "Not only is it a great fundraiser for our club, but the opportunity to connect with people in the agricultural industry is invaluable. Introducing members to industry professionals and nationwide leaders at events such as the Steak Fry is what makes Block & Bridle such a special organization.”

The club has been hosting the steak fry for over 60 years and it serves as the largest fundraising event put on by the club's beef interest group. The proceeds from the event helps the club pay for educational opportunities such as industry tours, meeting expenses and club awards. It is also provides the club an opportunity to engage with friends, family, faculty and staff outside of a classroom setting.

The Block and Bridle Club at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is comprised of students that are interested in animal agriculture. The Nebraska chapter is a charter member of the National Block and Bridle Club, which was established in 1919.
